The HSI Scalping Challenge What was the HSI Scalping Challenge? The HSI scalping challenge was to start trading with a trading capital of €10,000 and to finish one year later with a trading capital of €1,000,000 (i.e. a profit of €990,000 (9,900%) in one year). When was the HSI Scalping Challenge? The HSI scalping challenge started on June 28th 2011 and was originally scheduled to finish on June 27th 2012, but Patrick has completed the HSI scalping challenge successfully within only three months and twenty seven days (i.e. by October 25th 2011). What Type of Trades Are Made? For the HSI scalping challenge, Patrick made scalping trades on the Hang Seng stock index (via the Hang Seng futures market, and the Hang Seng options and warrants markets) for two and a half hours each trading day (from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM Central European Time). The trades that were made for the HSI scalping challenge are available by downloading the list of HSI scalping challenge trades (in PDF format). Why Undertake the HSI Scalping Challenge? Patrick's reason for undertaking the HSI scalping challenge was to be crowned king of the scalpe... ehem, was simply to find out if such a feat could be accomplished (which apparently it could). The HSI scalping challenge was rather an ambitious task to attempt, but the reward has been significant, and it was a lot of fun along the way. Will Patrick Continue Now That the HSI Scalping Challenge Has Been Completed Successfully? During the HSI scalping challenge, the HSI scalping challenge trades were available in real time via either my live DAX trading service (which included live HSI scalping at no additional cost) or Patrick's live HSI scalping service. Now that Patrick has completed the HSI scalping challenge successfully, Patrick's live HSI scalping service will no longer be available, but my live DAX trading service will continue. |
![]() About Patrick Marne Patrick Marne is the managing director of Patrick Marne Investment Management AG, a professional investment management company in Switzerland. Patrick is a professional scalper, and trades the HSI stock index (via the HSI futures market, and the HSI options and warrants markets) exclusively. Patrick is a discretionary trader, which means that he performs his analysis and makes each trading decision in real time according to his trading technique (as opposed to following a trading system). Professional Scalping Scalping is the shortest term trading style (the other styles being day, swing, and position trading). Scalping trades are usually only active for a few minutes, and have smaller targets and stop losses then the longer term trading styles. |
